SUMMARY:Banking Crisis litigation before the EU Courts
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Leo Flynn from the Commission Legal Service to give a talk to UKSALA on the subject of “Banking Crisis litigation before the EU Courts”. As someone who frequently defends the Commission’s State aid decisions in the General Court and CJEU\, and who has been the Commission’s agent for all of the recent banking State aid cases that have gone to the EU Courts\, Leo will be able to provide invaluable insights into the issues that are currently being debated and the judgments that we should be looking out for over the next years. \nIn particular he will address: \n\nWho goes to court in banking cases? Standing and interest to act in the crisis case-law\nWhat has been challenged in banking cases? Guidelines\, decisions\, commitments and conditions\nThe scrutiny of presence of aid by the EU Courts in banking cases\nReview of compatibility under Article 107(3)(b) TFEU by the EU Courts\, and\nThe interaction between preliminary rulings and annulment actions in relation to banking cases\n\nMayer Brown International are kindly hosting this event for UKSALA\, and the seminar will be chaired by David Harrison\, Partner and co-head of Mayer Brown’s European Antitrust and Competition Practice. \nArrive and sign in at 5.15 pm for a 5.30 pm start.
